Oman Air adds Kathmandu flights

Oman Air will expand its international network this year with the launch of flights to Kathmandu in Nepal from its base in Muscat.

The airline, which is the national carrier of Oman, will open the route on September 2nd and offer four weekly services departing on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

Passengers will be carried on Boeing 737-700 aircraft, offering a choice of business and economy seats.

Kathmandu is the 40th destination in the Oman Air network.

Peter Hill, the airline's chief executive officer, said: "Oman Air is delighted to add the Nepalese capital of Kathmandu to its network.

"Kathmandu is a much-awaited destination and Oman Air would like to offer its customers in the region the opportunity to experience one of the most beautiful natural landscapes in the world."

Mr Hill revealed that the company is expecting "significant corporate and leisure traffic" on the route.

The airline operates flights to Muscat from London Heathrow, meaning travellers from the UK will be able to connect to the new service to Nepal.

Return journeys from London to the Omani capital start from £522 including taxes and can be booked on the Oman Air website.
