Jet Airways back on top in India

Indian airline Jet Airways has regained its market leader position as well as increasing its share of the UK market, the company has announced.

Along with its subsidiary JetLite, the airline posted double-digit year-on-year growth for the 16th month in a row as well as reporting average international seat vacancy figures of less than 20 per cent.

Furthermore, market figures from Airline Network News and Analysis show that the air carrier is now the single biggest Indian airline serving Europe.

Jet Airways has a Belgian hub in Brussels, allowing for regular flights to India from both London Heathrow and Milan Malpensa airports.

As a result, total international traffic figures for February showed an 11.5 per cent year-on-year rise for the airline.

Jet Airways also expanded its domestic network last month, with 15 new flights to hyderabad in southern India, from Bhubaneswar, Vijayawada, Jaipur and Nagpur.
