Etihad celebrates five years of services to Muscat

Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, this week celebrated the fifth anniversary of its service between Abu Dhabi and Muscat, Oman.

The airline commenced operations to Muscat in March 2006 with daily flights and today operates three flights per day, reflecting the strength of the route. Muscat now ranks as one of the top performing destinations in the GCC market for Etihad.

James Hogan, Etihad Airways' Chief Executive Officer, said: "Muscat is a key market for Etihad and an important business and leisure destination for our customers. We anticipate continued strong demand for our Muscat services from within the GCC, as well as from guests leveraging the convenient connections to and from the Far East, Europe and America." Etihad operates state-of-the-art Airbus A319 and A320 aircraft on the route. Guests can experience the airline's award-winning Inspired service in Pearl Business class or Coral Economy class.

"Our aim is to be the airline of choice for customers travelling to and from Muscat, whether flying to Abu Dhabi or connecting directly through to over 39 destinations in the Middle East, Far East, Europe and North American destinations," Mr Hogan said.

Fares to Muscat from Abu Dhabi currently start at 1,240 AED in Economy class, and 3,210 AED in Business class. Fares exclude taxes and surcharges. Terms and conditions apply.
